By accepting a quotation, booking work, instructing us to proceed or using our services, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

2. TrustMark, Scheme Provider, Registered Trades and Customer Charter

 

NE Electrical Limited is committed to delivering work in line with recognised industry standards, including the TrustMark Code of Conduct and Customer Charter where applicable.

 

TrustMark is the UK Government-endorsed quality scheme for work carried out in and around the home. It sets standards for customer protection, technical competence, trading practices and service delivery.

3. Other Accreditations, Qualifications and Affiliations

 

NE Electrical Limited works in line with applicable industry standards, regulations and scheme requirements.

 

Depending on the type of work being carried out, this may include:

MCS Certified installation requirements for eligible renewable energy works

 

Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) for applicable renewable energy consumer work

 

Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) requirements for eligible EV charge point works

 

BPEC qualifications where applicable

 

City & Guilds electrical qualifications where applicable

 

ECS card scheme where applicable

 

IPAF training where access equipment is required

 

CHAS health and safety compliance where applicable

4. Business Insurance Details

 

NE Electrical Limited maintains business insurance appropriate to the services we provide.

Cover type: Professional Liability

 

Indemnity limit: £500,000

 

Cover period: 04/12/2025 to 03/12/2026

 

Insurance cover is subject to the full policy terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.

 

Further evidence of insurance can be provided on request where appropriate.

 

5. Services Covered by These Terms

 

These Terms and Conditions apply to services provided by NE Electrical Limited, which may include:

 

Domestic electrical installations, repairs and maintenance

 

Commercial electrical installations, repairs and maintenance

 

Inspection and testing

 

Electrical Installation Condition Reports

 

Consumer unit upgrades

 

Rewires and partial rewires

 

Emergency lighting

 

Solar PV installation, maintenance, repair and upgrades

 

Battery storage installation and associated works

 

EV charge point installation and associated works

 

Fault finding, remedial works and general electrical services

 

6. Quotations and Estimates

 

Quotations are based on the information available at the time they are prepared.

 

Unless stated otherwise in writing, a quotation covers only the work, materials and services specifically listed.

 

Any additional work, changes to specification, unforeseen issues, access problems, remedial works, upgrades or customer-requested changes may result in additional charges.

 

Quotations are valid for the period stated on the quotation.

 

If no period is stated, we reserve the right to amend or withdraw a quotation before it is accepted.

 

7. Acceptance of Work

 

A contract is formed when you accept our quotation or otherwise instruct us to proceed with the work.

 

Acceptance may be given in writing, by email, by message, by payment of a deposit, or by any other method agreed between us.

 

By accepting a quotation, you confirm that you have authority to instruct the work at the property and that you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

 

8. Deposits, Stage Payments and Payment Terms

 

We may request a deposit, stage payment or payment for materials before work starts or during a project.

 

Payment requirements will be set out in the quotation, invoice or written agreement.

 

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, invoices are payable on receipt or by the due date shown on the invoice.

 

We reserve the right to pause work, withhold certificates, withhold completion documents or charge for additional administration where invoices remain unpaid, subject to applicable law.

 

All goods and materials supplied by us remain our property until paid for in full, although risk in those goods may pass to the customer once delivered or installed.

 

9. Customer Responsibilities

 

You are responsible for:

 

Providing accurate information about the property, installation and project requirements

 

Ensuring suitable access to the property and work areas

 

Ensuring parking, keys, permissions and access arrangements are available where needed

 

Clearing work areas before our arrival where reasonably required

 

Obtaining landlord, freeholder, managing agent, planning or other permissions where required

 

Ensuring the property structure, roof, loft, walls, ceilings, electrical installation and access routes are suitable unless we have agreed to assess them

 

Providing internet, Wi-Fi, mobile signal, app access or account access where required for smart devices, solar monitoring, battery systems or EV charge points

 

Not interfering with installed equipment, certificates, safety devices or electrical systems

 

Paying invoices by the agreed due date

 

10. Access, Delays and Third Parties

 

We will make reasonable efforts to carry out work within agreed timescales.

 

However, dates may be affected by weather, supplier delays, scaffold availability, DNO approvals, manufacturer availability, customer access, unforeseen site issues, illness, safety concerns or other events outside our reasonable control.

 

We are not responsible for delays caused by third parties, customer-provided information, access issues, permission delays, DNO/grid connection delays, manufacturer delays or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

 

11. Variations and Additional Work

 

Any change to the agreed scope of work may affect the price, timescale and materials required.

 

Additional work will be charged separately unless included in a revised written quotation or agreed variation.

 

Where urgent or safety-related issues are identified, we will explain the issue and seek your instructions before carrying out additional chargeable work, except where immediate action is reasonably required to make the installation safe.

 

12. Electrical Safety, Certification and Compliance

 

NE Electrical Limited aims to carry out electrical work in accordance with applicable regulations, standards and industry good practice, including BS 7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations where relevant.

 

Where required, appropriate certification or reports will be issued following completion of qualifying work.

 

Certificates and reports relate to the work inspected or carried out and may identify limitations, exclusions or observations.

 

We are not responsible for pre-existing faults, unsafe installations, hidden defects, inaccessible areas or work carried out by others unless we have specifically agreed to investigate or remedy them.

 

13. Solar PV, Battery Storage and EV Charge Point Work

 

Solar PV, battery storage and EV charge point installations may be subject to additional technical, regulatory, manufacturer, DNO, MCS, TrustMark, RECC, OZEV or warranty requirements.

 

Estimated system performance, savings, payback periods, generation figures, export values or running cost benefits are estimates only.

 

Actual results may vary depending on weather, shading, roof orientation, electricity usage, tariff changes, equipment performance, customer behaviour and other factors.

 

Customers are responsible for ensuring that any required property permissions, landlord approvals, planning permissions, leaseholder permissions or managing agent approvals are in place unless we have expressly agreed to manage these as part of the project.

 

14. Making Good, Decoration and Finishes

 

Unless specifically stated in the quotation, our work does not include plastering, decorating, tiling, flooring, boxing-in, carpentry, roofing repairs, landscaping or making good beyond the direct electrical or installation works.

 

Electrical work may require access holes, chasing, lifting floorboards, drilling, cable routing or other access works.

 

We will take reasonable care, but some disturbance to finishes may be unavoidable.

 

15. Waste and Old Materials

 

We will remove waste materials where this is included in the quotation or agreed as part of the work.

 

Hazardous, specialist or customer-owned waste may require separate arrangements.

 

16. Manufacturer Warranties and Workmanship

 

Manufacturer warranties apply to products and equipment in accordance with the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.

 

Warranty periods, exclusions and claim processes vary by product.

 

Any workmanship warranty provided by NE Electrical Limited will be confirmed in writing.

 

Warranties do not cover misuse, accidental damage, lack of maintenance, interference by others, unauthorised alterations, third-party faults, manufacturer defects, supply issues or circumstances outside our control.

 

17. Cancellations and Consumer Rights

 

Where you are a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights depending on how and where the contract was agreed.

 

If cancellation rights apply, we will provide relevant information in accordance with consumer law.

 

If you ask us to start work during any cancellation period, you may be required to confirm this in writing.

 

If you later cancel after work has started, you may be required to pay for work carried out, materials ordered, services supplied and reasonable costs incurred up to the point of cancellation.

 

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights.

 

18. Limitation of Liability

 

We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of contract or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

 

We are not responsible for losses that are not foreseeable, business losses suffered by consumers, loss caused by inaccurate information provided by the customer, or loss caused by third parties or events outside our reasonable control.

 

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or breach of statutory rights that cannot be excluded.

We may need to inspect the work, request further information, contact suppliers or review project records before providing a full response.

 

20. Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

 

We ask customers to contact NE Electrical Limited first if they have a complaint.

 

We will do our best to resolve the matter directly, fairly and promptly.

 

NE Electrical Limited is a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code (RECC) for applicable renewable energy work.

 

RECC sets consumer protection standards for businesses selling or leasing renewable energy generation systems to domestic consumers.

 

If we are unable to resolve a complaint relating to eligible renewable energy or EV charge point work, you may be able to refer the matter to Green Homes Dispute Resolution, an independent dispute resolution service for domestic renewable energy and EV charge point disputes.

 

 

 

 

Customers should check the eligibility requirements and follow the relevant process before submitting a dispute.

 

21. TrustMark Complaints Support

 

Where work falls within the scope of our TrustMark registration, customers may also be able to access support through TrustMark or our Scheme Provider, subject to the relevant TrustMark process and eligibility requirements.
